SHoW DMX and MasterBlast at the Summit of the Americas in Port of Spain Trinidad

The Fifth Summit of the Americas was held on April 17, 2009 in Port of Spain Trinidad to allow Heads of State of the Western Hemisphere to meet and discuss common concerns, seek to develop a shared vision of the future, increase inter-American cooperation, energy security, and other concerns such as climate change.

Attending countries included Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, United States of America, Uruguay, and Venezuela.

Brian Mac Farlane, Artistic Director of Mac Farlane's Design Studios was appointed Head Designer. In addition to this role Mac Farlane and his team were also responsible for implementing interior decor for numerous venues used during the Summit as well as the production of the acclaimed Opening Ceremony. Mac Farlane's concept for the opening ceremony required the use of color-changing cocktail tables. This requirement was put to Antony Scully of the technical department of Mac Farlane's Design Studios who then specified City Theatrical's Master Blast system using Color Kinetics' ColorBlast 6 RGB LED lights.

This wireless arrangement enabled the cocktail tables to be freestanding while maintaining the captivating color-changing effects of the CK system.  24 City Theatrical MasterBlast kits and a 5601 SHoW DMX Transmitter were used for this production allowing battery powered lighting with remote DMX control of levels and colors.

Mac Farlane has received many praises for his designs and production of the 5th summit of the Americas and the City Theatrical products were instrumental in this success.
