RadioScan® Spectrum Analyzer

RadioScan Spectrum Analyzer (P/N 5988) is a 900MHz and 2.4GHz spectrum analyzer (includes a RadioScan hardware dongle and accompanying free RadioScan software) that enables you to easily visualize radio energy that is otherwise invisible to you.

Using RadioScan helps you to create a broadcast plan that optimizes available spectrum in your area, and helps prevent interference with other mission critical radio devices near you.

RadioScan shows all radio activity near you in your chosen frequency, including frequency hopping gear like wireless DMX, as well as Wi-Fi networks, Bluetooth, wireless headsets, video transmitters, cordless phones, and microwave ovens. RadioScan can view spectrum data either in Spectrogram View or Waterfall View, and snapshots can be taken of both in the program. Scans of any length can be recorded, saved, emailed and played back with the RadioScan software, without the need for the RadioScan hardware dongle.

By identifying SSIDs, broadcast channel, and the signal strength of wireless networks, RadioScan can help IT departments setup, maintain, and troubleshoot their wireless installations.

For users of Multiverse® wireless DMX/RDM products, RadioScan will guide you in creating the optimum broadcast plan for your production.

RadioScan is compatible with both PC and MAC computers.

The RadioScan software program is available as a free download in the download tab below, or on the Firmware page.

pdf Multiverse wireless DMX/RDM at Tesla’s Giga Texas “Cyber Rodeo” Grand Opening Party

"The versatility of the Multiverse system meant we were able to reconfigure nodes on the fly, and broadcast nine universes of long-distance data transmission in two separate systems.”

- Aidan Marshall, Associate Lighting Designer

This case study Q&A explores the Multiverse® wireless DMX/RDM system used at Tesla’s Giga Texas “Cyber Rodeo” Grand Opening Party in Austin, Texas in April 2022, which celebrated the electric vehicle maker’s new $1.1 billion factory, and was attended by 15,000 guests. The dual band Multiverse 900MHz/ 2.4GHz solution used included one Multiverse Transmitter to broadcast nine universes of wireless DMX data out of the console and 10 long range Panel Antennas to transmit and receive 700 feet from the console over both the 2.4GHz and 900MHz bands.

“This RadioScan setup has been a game changer for us. Now we can easily put the antenna where it needs to be, to see what is happening close to the transmitters and receivers. Before, we were only able to see what was happening in the booth, not where the real action is on stage.” - Kevin Barry, Production Electrician
pdf Multiverse Studio Wireless DMX for Season II of the CBS original television series, The Unicorn “If I could, everything would come in and be attached to a Multiverse Studio Receiver. Having that interactive screen on your device… I can see the radio signal, universe, and everything I need to know if I need to assess something quickly. All of that control at the electrician’s level has been a gamechanger. All the guys love it, and they reach for it.”
- Justin Stroh, Chief Lighting Technician, The Unicorn
pdf Multiverse Studio Wireless DMX for Season II of the Television Series Everything's Gonna Be Okay on Freeform “The Multiverse Studio Kit was just what we needed. The setup and connectivity was fast and easy. We had all 6 receivers working on many of our lighting setups with zero connection fails all season.”
- Carlos M. Torres, Chief Lighting Technician, Everything's Gonna Be Okay
pdf Multiverse® Studio Kit, QolorFLEX Multiverse Dimmers, and RadioScan® Spectrum Analyzer for Netflix Film Leave the World Behind

“The RadioScan Spectrum Analyzer is a great public relations tool between departments. It not only allows the electric department to strategize its own broadcast options but also allows us the opportunity to represent the wireless broadcast environmental challenges that all departments are facing.”
